What is Recruitment Week?
Recruitment Week is one of the most exciting times for students looking to join a sorority. It’s a structured, multi-day experience where potential new members (PNMs) meet each chapter, connect through conversation, and discover the sisterhood that feels like home. From the first round to Bid Day, it’s a week full of fun, friendships, and big decisions.
What to expect:
1. Register Online
Sign up through your campus Panhellenic portal to receive your schedule, group info, and full access to events.
2. Attend Orientation
Before the rounds begin, you’ll attend an orientation that walks you through the process and gives you tips for the week ahead.
3. Four-Round Recruitment Process
Over four days, you’ll rotate through each sorority house. Conversations range from quick chats to longer sit-downs—helping you get a real feel for each chapter. All times and details will be sent through Panhellenic.
4. Preference & Bid Day
After the final round, you’ll rank your top chapters—and they’ll do the same. Preference Night is your last chance to connect. Then comes Bid Day: the big reveal where you find out who you’re running home to!
5. New Member Period
Once you receive your bid, you’ll start the new member experience, where you'll bond with your new sisters, learn chapter traditions, and begin your sorority journey.
What to Wear for Recruitment Week:
Icebreakers
The Icebreakers round offers a relaxed and informal introduction to our community. During this time, you'll have the chance to connect with other potential new members and get a glimpse into each chapter through engaging videos. You’ll be provided a t-shirt to wear—comfort is key, but you’ll still want to feel put-together!
Philanthropy Day
During Philanthropy Day, you'll visit each house and learn about the philanthropic missions that are meaningful to each sorority. All potential new members will be provided a matching t-shirt to wear. To personalize your look, our Philanthropy Day collection features a variety of stylish skirts to pair with your tee.
Sisterhood Events
For the Sisterhood Round, you'll enjoy longer visits at a few houses, allowing for more meaningful conversations where the sororities can truly get to know you. This round calls for a lovely rush dress, and in our GSU-themed Sisterhood Round collection, you'll find options with beautiful floral patterns, interesting details, or charming puff sleeves, all perfect for making a wonderful impression while showing your school spirit.
Preference Night
Preference Round marks the final and most formal stage of recruitment, where you'll revisit your top choices. This is an opportunity to deepen your connections with the women and envision your potential place within each chapter. Given the formality of the evening, our Preference Round collection offers elevated dresses perfect for this special occasion. Find something wedding guest chic – a dress that makes you feel confident and showcases your personal style.
Rush Bag
Keeping a bag of your essentials with you during recruitment is incredibly important for staying comfortable and confident throughout the day. Having key items readily accessible can truly make the experience smoother and allow you to focus on making connections. We suggest including things like a hair clip or teleties to manage your hair, sunglasses for sunny moments, and lip gloss or chapstick to keep your lips feeling their best.
