What is Recruitment Week?

Recruitment Week is one of the most exciting parts of the sorority experience at Georgia Southern University. It’s a multi-day process where potential new members, also known as PNMs, meet each chapter, have conversations, learn more about each sisterhood, and find the chapter that feels like home.

This year’s Georgia Southern recruitment week leads up to Bid Day on August 16, with each round giving PNMs a chance to connect, learn, and narrow down their choices before the big reveal.

What to expect:

1. Register Online
Before recruitment begins, PNMs will register through their campus Panhellenic portal. This is where they’ll receive important information, schedules, group details, and updates for the week.

2. Attend Orientation
Before the rounds officially start, PNMs will attend orientation. This helps explain how recruitment works, what to expect each day, and how to feel prepared going into the week.

3. Philanthropy Round
- August 12: Philanthropy Round 1
- August 13: Philanthropy Round 2

During Philanthropy Round, PNMs will visit chapters and learn about the causes and organizations each sorority supports. This round is a great chance to hear what each chapter values and how they give back.

4. Sisterhood Round
- August 14: Sisterhood Round
Sisterhood Round gives PNMs a deeper look into chapter life. Conversations are usually more personal, and this round helps PNMs get a better feel for the friendships, traditions, and overall personality of each chapter.

5. Preference Round
- August 15: Preference Round
Preference Round is the final and most formal round of recruitment. PNMs will visit their top chapters, have more meaningful conversations, and reflect on where they can truly see themselves.

6. Bid Day
- August 16: Bid Day
Bid Day is the big reveal. This is when PNMs find out which chapter they’re joining and get to celebrate running home to their new sisterhood.

7. New Member Period
After Bid Day, new members begin their chapter experience. This is when they start bonding with their new sisters, learning chapter traditions, attending events, and officially beginning their sorority journey.
